Bringing Industrial Precision to Screen: Our First Video Project with Matec Instrument Companies

2–4 minutes

Some projects stop you in your tracks the moment you walk through the door. Our collaboration with Matec Instrument Companies was exactly that kind of project.

Matec is an industry leader in ultrasonic nondestructive testing — a field that sits at the intersection of cutting-edge engineering and real-world industrial application. Their systems are massive, meticulously built, and genuinely impressive to witness in person. When they came to us looking to create their first pieces of video content, we knew we had something special to work with.

The Challenge: Making Complex Technology Feel Tangible

Matec provides a full suite of in-house services — mechanical and electronic design, machining and fabrication, instrumentation and control, and data acquisition and analysis software. What sets them apart is their ability to deliver a seamlessly integrated solution under one roof, serving as a single point of contact for their customers from design all the way through installation, training, and long-term support.

The challenge for us was translating that depth of capability into video. These aren’t products you pick off a shelf. They’re large-scale, custom-engineered industrial systems that require a trained eye to fully appreciate. Our job was to bridge that gap — to capture what makes Matec’s equipment remarkable and present it in a way that would resonate with the engineers, procurement teams, and executives who make high-stakes purchasing decisions.

Our Approach: Overview Meets Commercial

We set out to create content that could do double duty: serve as a detailed overview for prospects who want to understand what they’re investing in, and function as a compelling commercial that Matec could use to open doors with new clients.

That meant being intentional about every shot. We wanted to capture the sheer scale of the machinery — the kind of presence you feel when you’re standing next to it — while also highlighting the precision engineering and thoughtful design that goes into every system. Wide establishing shots gave the equipment room to breathe and communicate its size. Closer, detail-oriented shots brought attention to the craftsmanship and sophistication that distinguishes Matec from the competition.

Throughout production, we kept the end viewer in mind. A future Matec client watching this video needs to come away with two things: confidence in the technology, and confidence in the team behind it. Every frame was built around delivering both.

Why This Kind of Content Matters for Industrial Companies

For companies operating at Matec’s level, video content has historically been an afterthought. The work speaks for itself on the shop floor, so why invest in showing it elsewhere?

The answer is reach. Matec’s systems solve serious problems for serious industries — but only if the right people know they exist. A well-produced video lets their equipment walk into rooms that their team can’t physically be in, making the case clearly and professionally before a single conversation even happens. It extends their sales process, supports their existing team, and signals to potential clients that Matec takes their brand as seriously as they take their engineering.

The Result

What we came away with was a set of videos that genuinely capture what Matec is all about — industrial capability at the highest level, backed by a team that handles everything from design to ongoing customer support. Content that’s ready to anchor a pitch, live on their website, or be shared with prospects who need to see it to believe it.
